Our guides have spent their lives on the water in Drake Bay, Costa Rica. Fishing is a big part of who they are, and they enjoy sharing their favorite spots, techniques, and knowledge of the area. Their years on the water and enthusiasm for fishing help create incredible trips for everyone.
All guides are fluent in English and Spanish and have experience welcoming guests from around the world.

Joseph
Joseph was born in Drake Bay and grew up splitting his time between Texas and Drake Bay, fishing in both places. He loves fishing and he goes out as much as possible. He previously worked leading boats for competitive fishing, but he's been working in the Drake Bay tourism industry for 4 years, including a year at Blue Horizon.
Fishing Guide
I fell in love with fishing at a very young age. I started out fishing from the shore, dreaming of one day owning my own boat and heading out to find the fish I so admired. Today, that dream has become a reality. For me, fishing isn't just a job; it is what I enjoy most in life. I love being out on the water, tracking down fish, trying out different techniques, and feeling that thrill when I land a big catch. Now, I have the opportunity to share everything I’ve learned with visitors to Costa Rica, taking them out to experience our incredible waters and hunt for giant tuna, marlin, sailfish, and many other species. What began with a young boy fishing from the shore has grown into my passion, my dream, and my way of life.
